Mental Health for Newcomer Parents & Teens
July 30, 2020@6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Navigating a new way of life can be stressful, but as a newcomer during COVID-19, it can be even more challenging. The pandemic has resulted in greater levels of stress and anxiety for both teenagers and their parents.
Join us as we discuss mental health, the issues parents and youth are currently facing and how these may impact everyone’s well-being. Discover how to identify warning signs and learn strategies to help motivate you and your child.
This workshop will be led by Natalia Manay, Psychoeducational Consultant at JVS Toronto. She provides counselling and assessments for children, adolescents, and families. Natalia immigrated to Canada with her parents when she was 16 years old.
This workshop is open to parents of newcomer youth in high school. Must hold PR or Refugee Status.
